PARIS, FRANCE (September 13th, 2024) — The Maison KARL LAGERFELD is pleased to unveil its new FUTURE LEGACY concept at its store on London Regent Street, following months of refurbishment at the renowned location. Re-opening from September 5, 2024, the contemporary space is largely inspired by Karl Lagerfeld's own passion for architecture and interior design; it reimagines his vision for modern retail and firmly establishes the next phase in the brand's evolution.

"With expressive storytelling and immersive experiences, our Regent Street store invites guests to discover the World of KARL LAGERFELD in an engaging journey," says Pier Paolo Righi, CEO of KARL LAGERFELD. "Aligned with our mission to inspire, our new FUTURE LEGACY concept redefines our approach to retail through a fusion of fashion, art, innovation, and Karl's iconic vision. Our Regent Street store is a key pillar in our growth strategy that sets the benchmark moving forward."

Since opening in 2014, KARL LAGERFELD Regent Street has been a key location in the brand's growing global portfolio. It attracts a loyal following from both local customers and international travelers, while the exclusive neighborhood is known for its luxury shopping and lifestyle destinations.

Upon approaching the refurbished store, guests are now welcomed by an open façade that visually connects the street to the interior, while floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light. Inside, the first impression is boldly modern: straight ahead, an expansive digital screen communicates the brand's latest campaigns and storytelling. It juxtaposes the checkout counter, which is hand-crafted from a mix of natural stone and a brushed steel top sheet to make a striking statement.

Across 300-square-meters and two levels, the space is light and minimalistic, with open sight lines and fresh interpretations of the signature KARL LAGERFELD aesthetic. The interior explores contrasts of glossy finishes and refined, natural textures. Exposed raw materials — like engineered stone, micro-cement and plaster — are offset by polished chrome rails, brushed steel, mirrors, corrugated steel and upcycled acrylics. As the collection unfolds on surrounding walls, linear shelves enhance the clean feeling while floor-to-ceiling digital screens feature the latest campaigns.

Numerous elements are inspired by Karl Lagerfeld's love of the unexpected. Similar to a Ferris wheel, a rotating art installation displays products in the stairwell; it also invites customers to explore the lower level, which showcases an expanded offering of menswear collections. Fitting rooms are framed by oversized mirrors that create a dramatic backdrop and reflect light. Intentionally designed in a grid form, custom light fixtures create an ambient effect while their brushed metal finish nods to lights seen on the runway.

Throughout the store, some of Karl Lagerfeld's most famous quotes are displayed on walls, creating the ambiance of an art gallery while sharing a glimpse into his own personality — from witty and playful to visionary and insightful. Similarly, a "Karlism machine" is an interactive digital experience: press the red button on an illuminated mirrored wall, and one of his iconic quotes will appear.

Reflecting the brand's ongoing commitment to building a more responsible future, "Wonderglass" mannequins have been specifically selected for their low-impact benefits. Created with 3D printing technology, they're manufactured in the Netherlands with recycled plastic and colored with waste stream products like ground oyster shells, re-used coffee grounds, and brewing beer residue. The wooden arms are sourced with FSC certification.

Regent Street will feature the largest spectrum of KARL LAGERFELD collections in one store, including men's and women's ready-to-wear, bags and accessories, jewelry, small leather goods, footwear, beachwear, sleepwear, fragrance and lifestyle items. The Fall-Winter 2024 collection celebrates all that makes Karl Lagerfeld the ultimate icon: the genius, the chameleon and the multifaceted artist. Unafraid of change, unaccepting of compromises, and always on the pulse of "what's next."
